Internal customs transit is the delivery of cargo after importation into Russia through the territory of the country to the place of customs clearance without payment of fees and duties.
Internal customs transit can be carried out after the fulfillment of such conditions:
- The import of this type of cargo is not prohibited by law.
- The cargo has passed border control at the place of arrival (port, railway station, cargo terminal, etc.).
- The carrier has issued a cargo customs declaration. This document must be certified by a customs inspector.
The following data should be indicated in the declaration:
- Information about the country of dispatch, vehicle, carrier and forwarder.
- Product data: type, quantity, cost, number of cargo spaces.
- Terms and route of transportation, indicating the places of transshipment, if such operations are planned.
Internal customs transit is considered completed after the cargo has passed all clearance procedures at the place of delivery and all fees and taxes have been paid.
