Organization of loading and unloading operations
About Service

Loading and unloading operations are also called rigging. They can be carried out both in a warehouse and at sea terminals or railway stations. The organization of the process is handled by the party responsible for the cargo at this stage of transportation, or a hired contractor — a forwarding company.

There are several types of rigging work:

  1. Straight. The cargo is reloaded from the ship directly to the truck or train and sent to the customer.
  2. Warehouse. The cargo is first unloaded to a storage place, and then vehicles are driven and taken out of the port or terminal.

The specialists responsible for the rigging first prepare a work plan: the timing of loading and unloading, the sequence, the location of the cargo, so that the order does not linger in the warehouse or terminal and is loaded, according to all safety rules. Properly organized rigging work allows you to avoid fines for idle cargo, as well as to prevent damage to property. By entrusting training to professionals, you can save yourself from unforeseen expenses and losses.
